And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.  Revelation 18:1

We are a people with a mission, a message and a destiny! May the mundane occupations of our daily lives never rob us of our vision: Jesus IS coming again. Our church believes it and the world needs it. The book of Revelation pulsates with action. The scenes move with rapid pace on the stage of time.  The unfolding of the scrolls and the sounding of the seven trumpets. The rising of the beasts from the sea, the seven last plagues tells us that time has ever been on the march. Adventists have been the watchmen on the walls of Zion, giving the trumpet a sure sound. Nothing can be more convincing than our consistent interpretation of  prophecy that America will dominate the world! Where are we today?

Our caption text declares that there is something coming and God is going to do something spectacular before Jesus returns. There will be a revival that will be so full of power, the whole earth will be ablaze with His glory! This is a call to Marshall the church of God to be on the alert and to be ready for the second Pentecost that EG White talks about.

The great work of the gospel is not to close with less manifestation of the power of God than marked its opening. The prophecies which were fulfilled in the outpouring of the former rain at the opening of the gospel are again to be fulfilled in the latter rain at its close....  [Mar 256.2]

Servants of God, with their faces lighted up and shining with holy consecration, will hasten from place to place to proclaim the message from heaven. By thousands of voices, all over the earth, the warning will be given. Miracles will be wrought, the sick will be healed, and signs and wonders will follow the believers. Satan also works with lying wonders, even bringing down fire from heaven in the sight of men. Thus the inhabitants of the earth will be brought to take their stand.  [Mar 256.3]
